Portsea Golf Club

Course Overview

Portsea Golf Club is a celebrated destination on the Mornington Peninsula, known for its dramatic coastal setting, strategic course design, and relaxed atmosphere. With a rich history dating back to the early 20th century, the club has become synonymous with natural beauty, challenging golf, and environmental sensitivity.

Set on rolling dunes overlooking Bass Strait, the 18-hole layout at Portsea is defined by firm, fast fairways, coastal winds, and panoramic views. The course weaves through coastal scrub, open heathland, and remnant woodland, creating a unique playing experience that reflects the raw beauty of the surrounding landscape. Its minimalist design style is complemented by a diverse and resilient plant palette.

Project

GolfScape is assisting Portsea Golf Club with a comprehensive vegetation management program focused on protecting and enhancing native coastal ecosystems. Our work supports long-term goals of weed suppression and biodiversity conservation, while maintaining the open playing corridors and strategic shot values the course is known for. The project reinforces Portsea’s position as a leader in environmentally responsible golf course management.
