Founded in 1896 (originally as the Essendon Golf Club) and based in Glenroy since 1912, Northern Golf Club is one of Melbourne’s longstanding private clubs, known for its welcoming culture, strong course standards, and ongoing commitment to caring for its landscapes in the city’s north-west.
Set across roughly 55 hectares, the 18-hole championship course is a classic, picturesque parkland layout framed by mature red river gums, with 55+ bunkers and multiple water hazards that reward smart positioning and thoughtful shot-making. The original design is attributed to Sam Bennet and Jack English, with a long-term redevelopment masterplan led by Thomson Perrett helping shape the modern playing experience.
Support Northern Golf Club in the development and implementation of a comprehensive Vegetation Management Report, including hole-by-hole management recommendations, targeted weed and invasive species control, and guidance for the long-term establishment of indigenous vegetation. The project also includes tailored plant lists aligned to relevant EVCs, helping prioritise revegetation opportunities and improve habitat outcomes while maintaining course presentation and playability.
